Seashore Early Childhood Academy is a state licensed, educational facility serving children from 6 weeks through five years of age.
Our center is open from 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday-Friday. Our preschool program follows the same calendar as Seashore Charter Schools and has either a school day program (7:30am-2:30pm) or a full day program until 6:00pm.
We are currently engaged in our third year of mentoring as a ** Texas School Ready! provider.
** Texas School Ready! is the official site of the Texas School Readiness Certification System, a program that certifies preschool education classrooms that effectively prepare their students for kindergarten.
Texas School Ready! is based on the actual linking between:
- the quality instructional practices that must be in place in a preschool program to get children ready for kindergarten AND
- the children actually achieving scores showing they were on track in the areas of reading and social skills when they went to kindergarten.
Texas School Ready! is administered by the Texas State Center for Early Childhood Development, housed in the Children's Learning Institute (CLI) at the University of Texas-Houston. CLI has very in-depth experience in conducting early education research. TSR research and the research in the field at large shows clearly that if children do not experience a high quality preschool program that focuses on getting them ready for school, they will often have trouble when they go to kindergarten.
To maximize early development and learning, our curriculum is focused on the following:
- physical well-being, motor development and independence
- social and emotional development
- quality approaches toward learning
- language development and
- cognition and general knowledge.
